Agricultural education students awarded $10k in scholarships
Ten Oklahoma State University students have been selected as recipients of $1,000 scholarships from Agricultural Education Scholarship, Inc. for the spring 2015 semester. Each year, OSU Agricultural Education Scholarship, Inc., a private scholarship board representing 65 scholarship trusts, awards approximately $25,000 annually to agricultural education students at Oklahoma State University.

Spring 2015 Student Teaching cohort begins at cooperating schools
Twelve agricultural education seniors from Oklahoma State University recently began a 12-week student teaching program at agricultural education programs across Oklahoma. The student teaching program allows agricultural education collegiate students to bridge the gap between teaching theory and practice. During the student teaching experience, student teachers will teach classes, be involved with FFA activities, and assist with supervised agricultural education experiences under the guidance of cooperating teachers from each host school.

Robinson receives Distinguished Teaching Award
Shane Robinson, associate professor of agricultural education, recently was recognized with the Distinguished Teaching Award at the Southern Region conference of the American Association for Agricultural Education (AAAE). The conference was held in conjunction with the annual Southern Association of Agricultural Scientists conference in Atlanta, GA.

Three AECL students selected as OSU Seniors of Significance
Three AECL students - Kevin Meeks, Hannah Nemecek and Ty Schoenhals - have been selected as OSU Seniors of Significance for 2014-2015 by the OSU Alumni Association. The award recognizes students who have excelled in scholarship, leadership and service to campus and community and have brought distinction to OSU.

Jon Ramsey selected as AAAE Western Region Outstanding Teacher
Last week, a group of AECL faculty participated in the Annual Conference and Research Meeting of the Western Region of the American Association for Agricultural Education in Hawaii. At the event, Dr. Jon Ramsey was recognized with the Outstanding Teacher Award, and his nomination packet will be forwarded for the national award competition. Ramsey, along with Dr. Marshall Baker, Dr. Dwayne Cartmell, Dr. Shane Robinson and Dr. Rob Terry represented OSU at the conference.
