AGED 5990: Problems in Agricultural and Extension Education

Course Description
This course is presented in support to the College of Agriculture Sciences and Natural Resources at Oklahoma State University’s strategies to increase intercultural understanding, diversity, and cultural differences among undergraduate and graduate students to prepare them for work in different societies. The focus of this class is to discuss the basic concepts of global leadership, intercultural competence, intercultural theories and experiences. These concepts will be presented through exercises and discussed in open forums; encouraging students to critically discuss the importance of analyzed appropriated behaviors in diverse societies, and understanding and respecting diversity and cultural differences in order to become interculturally competent and a global leader.

The goal of this course is to reflect the importance of global leadership, achieve intercultural competence, and gain an understanding of the importance of developing appropriated skills to work in multicultural and diverse societies.
