AECL faculty, students participate in Association of Leadership Educators conference

Students and faculty from the Department of Agricultural Education, Communications and Leadership participated in the 2014 Association of Leadership Educators conference in San Antonio, Texas earlier this month. Faculty attendees included Bill Weeks and Penny Weeks, and student attendees included Meagan Scott and Ashley Whiddon.

Students and faculty from the Department of Agricultural Education, Communications and Leadership participated in the 2014 Association of Leadership Educators conference in San Antonio, Texas earlier this month. Faculty attendees included Bill Weeks and Penny Weeks, and student attendees included Meagan Scott and Ashley Whiddon.

At the event, OSU participants received several awards and made several presentations, including:

  • Founding Mothers' Award and Student Scholarship – Meagan Scott
  • Innovative Practice Poster: Leader Perspectives on Issues of Food Security and Hunger: Four Cases for the Leadership Classroom – Katelyn Mumaw, Penny Weeks, Bill Weeks, & Nick Brown (1st Place)
  • PreConference: Leadership Scholarship: An Intentional Process-Tony Andenero (UF), Penny Weeks, & Kerry Priest (KSU)
  • Research Paper/Session: The Journey to Authenticity: An Analysis of Undergraduate Personal Leadership Development-Meagan Scott, Ashley Whiddon, Nick Brown, and Penny Weeks
  • Innovative Practice Paper/Session: Connecting Concepts to Real World Examples: The New York Times in Leadership-Matthew Sowcik (Wilkes), Summer Odom (TAMU), and Bill Weeks
