Ag education students awarded $13,000 in scholarships

Thirteen Oklahoma State University students have been selected as recipients of $1,000 scholarships from Agricultural Education Scholarship, Inc. for the spring 2014 semester. Each year, OSU Agricultural Education Scholarship, Inc., a private scholarship board representing 65 scholarship trusts, awards approximately $25,000 annually to agricultural education students at Oklahoma State University.

The award is based on leadership characteristics, scholastic ability and a need for financial aid. Students selected for the spring 2014 award include:

• Marty Jones
• Bailey Kliewer
• Trevor Lucas
• Savannah Melton
• Tyler Price
• Lee Stewart
• Steven Vekony
• Jason White
• Jessie Wright

To be eligible, applicants must be agricultural education - teaching option majors.

Juniors and seniors must demonstrate a commitment to become an agricultural education instructor. The OSU Agricultural Education Scholarship, Inc. Board of Directors selects scholarship recipients. Incoming freshmen, transfer and continuing students may apply for awards ranging from $1,000 to $1,500 per semester. Graduate students are eligible for a $500 scholarship.
