Kelby Corbett, Owner, Filthy Hippy Co.

Tell us about yourself.
I am from Elgin, OK. I attended OSU from August 2015 to May 2019. I am the owner/designer of Filthy Hippie Co. which began the fall of 2018. I produce handmade funky accessories that I sell at pop-up shops across the state, on, and wholesale to different shops across the nation.

How does your agricultural leadership degree help you in your career?
The Agriculture Leadership department truly allowed me to find my passion for authentic leadership, critical thinking, and professionalism. My class experiences and internships benefitted me in so many ways even though I did not take the typical CASNR graduate route. Thanks to the AGLE department I am confident in my ability to reach out to potential new clients about carrying my designs, am able to hold myself accountable when it comes to “being my own boss,” and can make the connections needed in order to keep growing. If it wasn’t for the faculty encouraging and guiding me through both my studies and business ventures, Filthy Hippie Co. would not be where it is today.
