Sitton Receives Regents Distinguished Teaching Award by Erin Portman
Shelly Sitton, associate professor in agricultural communications, received the Regents Distinguished Teaching Award during the Oklahoma State University fall commencement ceremonies. Phongparnich Receives Distinguished Alumni Award by Nikki Hupman
Dr. Thep Phongparnich, president of Maejo University in Chiang Mai, Thailand, received Oklahoma State University’s Distinguished International Alumni Award on Nov. 12, 2005. In front of nearly 40,000 fans in Boone Pickens Stadium, Phongparnich received the award from OSU President David Schmidley.

Bob Price, longtime Oklahoma State University Department of Agricultural Education professor and former department head, passed away Dec. 13 in Stillwater, Okla., at the age of 95. He made a positive impact on those who knew him and dedicated his life to helping others. Complete story.

Leadership Education Institute Provides Professional Development by Carol McBryde
Last July, three Oklahoma State University faculty members were awarded a Higher Education Challenge Grant from the USDA. Penny Pennington, Cindy Blackwell and Bill Weeks worked with colleagues Christine Langone, University of Georgia, and John Barbuto, University of Nebraska, to develop the Leadership Education Institute for faculty in colleges of agriculture who were interested in furthering their study of teaching and research in leadership. Agricultural Leadership Student Serves in National Guard by Gail Banzet
Whether overseas or in America, agricultural leadership student Robbie Haxton traveled many miles while serving in the National Guard. After completing a one-year-term in Iraq that ended in March 2004, this guardsman was called up once again to active duty to assist with Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. Complete story.
