OSU Ag Ed, Comm & Leadership

By Eric Kennel

OSU Collegiate FFA/ Alpha Tau Alpha has been on the move once again this semester. After being named the CASNR Outstanding Student Organization, Collegiate FFA/ATA has set new standards of excellence.

The fall semester was kicked off with an amazing student teacher send off, hosting over 75 guests including students, parents, and agricultural education faculty.

In October, eight members attended the National FFA Convention to compete in the Alpha Tau Alpha Conclave. Our organization was successful in multiple contests which included second overall program of excellence, first place community service, and first place debate. While some members were busy competing at the Alpha Tau Alpha conclave, others were in Stillwater participating in the “Little I” where the Collegiate FFA livestock showing team won first place.

Community service activities, such as Hunt for Hunger and the community Halloween Carnival, are a significant part of the organization.

This is just a snap shot of the endless opportunities in Collegiate FFA/Alpha Tau Alpha. Fellowship is a major part of our organization.

On average, we had about forty members present at regular business meetings. The meetings are where all members had the opportunity to become involved with the success of the organization. The active membership and premier leadership of the Collegiate FFA officer team are major factors that have made Collegiate FFA/ATA the CASNR Outstanding Organization.
